Introduction

The 77th Republic Day Celebration was held on 26th January 2026 at 8:30 a.m. at Palar Agricultural College. The event was organized to honor the spirit of the Indian Republic and to instill patriotism among students and staff.

Event Proceedings

The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. N. Tamilselvan, Principal of Palar Agricultural College. The flag hoisting was accompanied by the “Kodi Vanakkam” song, followed by the gathering paying respect to the national flag.

The welcome address was delivered by Ms. P. Poovarasi, a student from the 2023 batch, who warmly greeted the dignitaries, staff, and students.

Following this, Dr. N. Tamilselvan, Principal, delivered a speech highlighting the history of the Republic of India, emphasizing the values of democracy and unity.
Dr. Y. Hariprasad, Former Principal and Advisor, remembered the national leaders and their sacrifices through his inspiring speech.
Dr. A. Palanisamy, Associate Professor, spoke about the power and significance of the Indian Constitution, stressing its role in shaping the nation’s progress.
Dr. K. Rajeshwaran, Staff Advisor, shared his thoughts on India’s vision for 2030, encouraging students to contribute to the nation’s development.

Student Participation

  Students actively participated in the celebration by sharing their reflections on Republic Day. Ms. Merin Jesna A from the 2023 batch, Ms. Shainika D from the 2024 batch, and Mr. Madhan D from the 2025 batch each expressed their patriotic sentiments and highlighted the importance of upholding constitutional values.  

Special Recognition

As part of the event, NSS Certificates were distributed to 2023 batch students in recognition of their service and participation in NSS activities. During the ceremony, the 2023 batch students presented a blissful memento to the Principal, Dr. N. Tamilselvan, in appreciation of his support and guidance during their successful NSS camp.

Conclusion

The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Aakash A.M from the 2023 batch, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers. The event ended with the National Anthem, marking a proud and patriotic conclusion to the Republic Day celebration at Palar Agricultural College.
